Original 16-valve turbo (the bumpers and lights are from 87-> newer model).
175hp original, but now more like 200-250hp.
It has been tuned pretty extensively by me, and now has 3" exhaust and
downpipe with one dampener. A large and tailored full aluminium
intercooler, Megasquirt-II engine management system with bigger (350cc/min)
injectors and fuel pump from a 8-valve K-Jetronic Saab (has better flow).
Also Innovate LC-1 Wideband Lambda sensor that is connected to the
Megasquirt-II, also you can see the mixture from a laptop if you connect
it to the car.
I have installed the Direct Ignition system from a '88 Saab 9000T, and it
is mappable by burning custom EPROMs. The Ignition Cassette is only 2 years
old or so.
It has the much better flowing head from a Trionic7 Saab 9-5, modded to fit
the B202 engine. Also has the hottest original camshafts from a '87 900T.
The engine is completely rebuilt by me about 15 thousand kms ago (including
all new bearings, new original Saab +1mm oversize pistons etc.)
The gearbox is a 4-speed chill-cast ("Kokill") from a 99 turbo. It's the
strongest gearbox you can ever fit originally in any 99 or OG900. Has the
#7 primary drive so on 4th the RPMs will be about 2800 @ 100km/h.
Unfortunately it leaks some gearbox oil probably from the shifter seal. Not
much at all in normal driving but a lot if you drive over 120km/h.
Otherwise it works perfectly, has been also rebuilt with new bearings and
syncros maybe 50tkm or so ago. The clutch and flywheel are from a Saab 9000
Turbo, 228mm so bigger than original.
